Opera Thumbprint Portland Opera - Portland, USA

This modern opera is the story of a woman in the early 2000s who fights for justice and women's rights. It is based on the life of Pakistani activist Mukhtar Mai, who was the victim of a terrible crime but managed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The sophisticated production is staged on two levels. Domestic life takes place downstairs, while the crimes and confrontations take place upstairs. The curtain and the staircase serve as transformation elements for the various characters.
