Setting up an exhibition for illustrators at the Bologna International Book Fair 2024
Alongside the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Bologna Book Fair is one of the most important international platforms for the publishing industry. In 2024, Slovenia presented the latest Slovenian creativity in the field of children's and young adult literature as Guest of Honor at the Bologna Book Fair.
The canopy, which was the largest presentation area, offered visitors an intimate corner away from the usual flood of noise and images. It consisted of two layers and was made of three different decorative materials. The outer layer consisted of two decorative fabrics in silver and gray, while the inner layer consisted of a printed decorative fabric.
Illustrations by Slovenian authors and their presentation were the focus of the fair. The originality and almost exact resemblance to the originals was achieved through the choice of suitable material and the excellent prints that make up the inner layer of the canopy. A special feature of this project were the large formats of the printed fabric, with the longest printed pieces being approximately 23 meters long.
Another special feature was the specially designed different passages for visitors within the two layers of the canopy. Such extraordinary ideas become true masterpieces in reality, and they are the result of the precision of the hands of our sewing workshop.
