SUSTAINABILITY

The simple ideas are often the most effective!

Put every yogurt pot in the yellow bag, but PVC dance floors and projection films in large quantities in the mixed waste?

At Gerriets, sustainability is not just a principle, but a living philosophy that permeates every facet of our actions. From day-to-day operations to energy supply, we rely on innovative solutions that are not only efficient but also environmentally conscious. Discover how Gerriets has been shaping a sustainable path in the industry for over 15 years and why our commitment to the environment goes far beyond mere obligation.

At Gerriets, we make our contribution to environmental protection in various areas. Firstly, by offering recycling solutions to the event and entertainment industry when our products are already worn out. We also offer a range of products made from recycled materials for the office and event sector, which is gradually increasing.

We are also working on the certification of many products in the nettle sector, such as ÖKOTEX certification and GOTS certification - an eco-social label that not only takes into account the environmentally friendly cultivation of cotton, but also the working conditions during harvesting, production and processing.

We also pay attention to our internal energy consumption, the origin of energy and the generation of waste. Here are some of our measures.

R-TEX PRODUCT RANGE

Our molton fabrics and velour made from recycled textiles form the beginning of the GERRIETS R-TEX product range, in which sustainable production conditions play a key role.

  • ALICANTE R-TEX / 100 % Trevira CS eco (70 % recycled content)
  • BARCELONA R-TEX / 100 % Trevira CS eco (75 % recycled content)
  • BÜHNENMOLTON R-TEX 300 / 64 % recycled cotton and 36 % polyester
  • BÜHNENMOLTON R-TEX 400 / 74 % recycled cotton and 26 % viscose

ENERGY

The warehouse is built using energy-efficient construction methods and the lighting technology is energy-saving. In addition to improvements in the daily production, office and warehouse processes, Gerriets has been paying attention to a sustainable energy supply for over 15 years.

Our photovoltaic roof systems generate a total output of approx. 130 MWh per year, 80% of which is for our own consumption and 20% for feeding into the grid.

HEAT

Our company building mainly uses sustainable wood pellets for heating. The key feature of these wood pellets is that they are CO2-neutral when burned.

They are also a regional and renewable resource that consumes less energy during production than fossil fuels.

FUHRPARK

We currently have electric company cars and 5 charging stations at our head office.

A gradual electrification of the company car fleet is planned.

In addition, business trips are made by rail as far as possible.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING

Wooden pallets are replaced by cardboard coasters and cardboard boxes wherever possible, i.e. less fuel is needed. These are 100% recyclable, weigh significantly less than those made of wood and can be used flexibly.

In addition, the dance floors are packed without polystyrene and reusable steel frames are used for delivery.

RAILS MADE FROM RECYCLED ALUMINUM

Our rail profiles are made from high-quality, recycled aluminum.

They are manufactured using highly efficient technologies and the lowest possible use of resources.

WASTE SEPARATION IN PRODUCTION AND THE OFFICE

Waste disposal is handled by certified companies and waste is consistently separated in the office and production.

All film remnants and eyelets from the welding shop are recycled and reintroduced into the world as roofing or pond liners.
